American SUV maker Jeep Renegade plans to launch a mid-sized SUV in the Indian market. In June 2018, Jeep unveiled a refreshed first-gen medium-life version of the Renegade. Jeep models in India have achieved excellent brand value in the sport utility vehicle segment with their dynamic styling features, terrain and all functionality. The Renegade is one of the smallest and cheapest Jeep models for sale. Jeep plans to bring SUVs to India to cater to younger buyers who want to buy Jeep models, but they have been kept at bay due to the availability of expensive models like Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Fiat is expected to run a 1.5-liter engine when launched in India. International versions are powered by 1.4-liter and 2.4-liter engines. Fiat's Sour Motor will produce 118 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. It is speculated that the Jeep will only offer the Renegade with a 4x4 drive train, only on the high-end variant.

In retrospect, we see some major reconstructions; The windshield is less advanced than before, giving the SUV a malware design. Square tail lamps have been replaced by high-speed, dagger-shaped LED units. The rear bumper now falls out of the body and receives two exhaust tips, mostly fake. However, in this rendering you don’t see the hook of the back spine. 

Overall, the design looks impressive, and we expect the Jeep model to be just as effective if not more so. When launched in India, Renegade will be priced at Rs. 11 lakhs to 18 lakhs. Its main competitors in our market will include Hyundai Creta, Kia Celtos, Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks and Maruti S-Cross.
